Breaking news EFF leader Julius Malema has been granted leave to appeal his five-year prison sentence for unlawfully possessing and discharging a firearm at a 2018 rally in Mdantsane.
Although the court rejected his conviction appeal, it ruled that he may challenge the sentence in the High Court.
Malema has been released on warning and will remain free pending the outcome of his appeal.
